Instant soup powder = 2400 mg sodium per tablespoon
Instant stock = 1329 mg sodium per cup
Are you surprised by the salt content of some foods?
Here are some tips on how to reduce the salt content in dishes.
- Make your own stock from scratch and freeze it in batches.
- Use fresh or dried herbs, onion, garlic and natural spices.
- Tomato paste or puree is high in anti-oxidants and low in salt. 🍅
